Organ Concert - Renaissance Theatre

Renaissance Theatre offers free Thursday organ concerts on the Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ.  All concerts begin at 1pm.  On Thursday, Aug. 21, Organist Jerry Lang will perform.  Future concerts are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 28,  Organist Donnie Rankin IV;  Thursday, Sept. 4, Organist Bob White;  and Thursday, Sept. 11, Organist Betty Keppler.  The Renaissance Theatre’s pipe organ was originally built in Wurlitzer’s North Tonawanda, New York factory in 1928 for Warner Brothers Vitaphone Company and installed in the Sunset Boulevard Studio in Hollywood in 1929.  It was originally built for scoring “talkies” and beefing up the studio orchestra.  The Renaissance acquired the organ in the spring of 1985.  For more information call 419-522-2726.  138 Park Ave. W., Mansfield, OH 44902.
